October 2008
John and Stuart Canning visited Papua New Guinea and Singapore in a whirlwind double header over a period of 1 week.
The trip to meet with Stihl - Singapore, the first of hopefully many, where Stuart and John were warmly welcomed and very grateful for the opportunity to meet and show Cannings range of Yale Ropes and Granberg products.
As seen in the photos the milling demonstration went extremely well and the colouration in the wood milled on the day was magnificent.
The objective of the trip to Papua New Guinea was to showcase the Granberg mill at the annual Morobe Show Day in Lae. The Granberg Mill range is being used extensively in Papua New Guinea with strong sales continuing to be seen throughout the region.
The new Stihl chainsaw carry pack was introduced to the market during this trip and it is expected to be a great success in PNG, it offers the ability for loggers to carry their saws into remote areas with ease.
Pictures for both events can be viewed here.
Both Stuart and John thank their hosts in Singapore and Papua New Guinea for the chance to meet and form new relationships and look forward to seeing everyone again on the next visit.

These impressive pics of a "prototype" Stihl motorbike were taken at the International Society of Arborists (ISA) show in Minneapolis, USA in August. We can't attest to the performance, but the attention to detail is staggering!
